THE ONLY RELIABLE & BEST PROCESSING
SOURCE FOR THE REMAINING AGFA SCALA FILM
Welcome to scalaprocessing.com
Agfa SCALA & SCALA-X: (SEE SERVICE NOTES IN BLUE BELOW) SCALA-FILM PROCESSING DISCOUNTS continues: We will continue meet any other labs price for scala-film processing. Just send in the other labs price-sheet or quote for processing and we'll meet that price. If you don't think our SCALA development is superior we will refund your money. dr5 LAB strives to provide the best, most consistent quality processing for the remaining scala film. THERE SIMPLY ISNT A BETTER QUALITY SERVICE FOR B&W REVERSAL PROCESSING. dr5 LAB process SCALA to a higher standard than that of the old AGFA process. No one processes this film better than us. This unique film will soon be in the annals of discontinued
films. Fortunately for you, there is dr5 for
B&W slides! As always we will continue to process scala, and dr5 will be around long after this film is completely gone. dr5-LAB
is the only lab left in the world capable of processing the scala-film
with quality and consistency, & we still process scala better than
anyone ever did! dr5-chrome is committed to running this film. We have been processing B&W slide for over 15 years, long before scala-film was introduced. Scala is a very sharp, well-designed negative film for use in AGFA's DIA-type Scala process, now discontinued with agfa's closing. Contrary to belief Scala is a B&W "NEGATIVE" film. SCALA film is an orthochromatic [partial] clear-base film type that runs better through the dr5 process. Comparison-processing Tests indicate a 15-20% on average quality improvment @ some current labs using non-AGFA chemistry.Scala film produces a first-rate neutral in developer-1, and a 'milk-chocolate' sepia in developer-2. Scala FILM has a medium tonal range with good detail in the blacks and whites in dr5. It has less depth than many of the other films due to its ortho-film qualities. Film such as TXP & FP4 are panchromatic and produce superior results. SCALA normal iso is@ 200. Due to age of the remaining film we recommend you expose this film no higher than 400iso. We can run SCALA to its advertised 1600 iso however, It is not recommended. Push charges apply to run this film @ 400 - 1600 EI-range 20-400 - 800 / 1600 MAXiso in dr5. INDUSTRY NOTE: AGFAPHOTO is out of business. None of AGFAPHOTO'S films are being manufactured. The scala film left in the market place is all that there is. There are no official Agfa-scala labs remaining, simply put, there is no company left to support the Agfa-scala-chemistry or the machines they produced. If you can find a lab to do a better job processing scala, we would encourage you to use them! Other Labs using sub-standard chemistry will produce poor results. Currently; some retailers are http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/100348REG/Agfa still selling this film. AGFAPHOTO produced many master rolls of a few of their film types. These master-rolls are what you see in the market today. The last film produced by AGFAPHOTO was almost 4 years ago. ALL AGFAPHOTO films have been discontinued. SCALA film is susceptible to age related problems. We would highly suggest you shoot this film @ 100iso or lower. This will help offset any age related issues. WHY
IS SCALA BETTER RUN IN dr5 ? : Go to our TECH PAGES for other lab processing comparisons. |
